Tech Data announced a new distribution agreement with Wasabi Technologies, the hot cloud storage company, to help partners across Singapore and Malaysia capture growing demand for cloud storage, data protection and cyber resilience solutions.

The partnership with Wasabi expands Tech Data’s cloud and data management portfolio while enabling resellers and managed service providers (MSPs) to address growing customer requirements around AI, backup, archive, disaster recovery and ransomware protection with cost-effective, cloud-first solutions. Wasabi provides the cloud object storage platform for AI, analytics, enterprise applications, cyber-resilience, and cloud-native workloads. As organisations generate and retain ever-larger volumes of data, Wasabi enables partners to help their customers seamlessly move, manage, and access data across their AI and cloud environments through a globally scalable object storage layer.

Wasabi is a strong addition to Tech Data’s cloud and data management portfolio, addressing fast-growing demand in Singapore and Malaysia for cost-efficient storage, backup and cyber-resilience solutions, said Mark Tan, Vice President, Tech Data Singapore & Tec D Malaysia. As organisations face rapid data growth, accelerating cloud adoption, heightened ransomware and compliance concerns, and continued pressure to optimise IT spend, Wasabi gives partners an affordable, secure and cloud-first solution to help SMB and enterprise customers modernise backup and archive without hyperscaler cost unpredictability. It also complements our existing cloud and cybersecurity ecosystem and supports our strategy to grow recurring, consumption-based cloud revenue.

Through the agreement, partners gain access to Wasabi’s cloud storage portfolio backed by Tech Data’s comprehensive support ecosystem, including its Tech Center of Excellence, partner enablement resources, cloud marketplace capabilities, financing options, and local billing and support services. Together, these capabilities help partners design and deliver AI, cloud storage, backup and cyber-resilience solutions more effectively, accelerate time-to-market and create recurring revenue opportunities.

Singapore and Malaysia are important growth markets for Wasabi as organisations look for a smarter alternative to complex and unpredictable cloud storage models, said Raymond Koh, ASEAN Country Manager, Wasabi Technologies. Tech Data’s deep channel relationships, local presence and ability to help partners build complete data protection and cloud solutions make them an ideal distributor to expand our reach and support customers across the region.

Tech Data will distribute Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage, an object storage platform designed for frequently accessed data and compatible with S3. The portfolio also includes Wasabi Cloud NAS for file-based workflows and Wasabi Surveillance Cloud, together with integrations across leading backup and recovery providers including Veeam, Commvault and Rubrik.

Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage is designed for high-performance workloads, with a straightforward pricing model intended to help customers manage storage costs more predictably without vendor lock in. Its compatibility with S3 helps simplify migration and integration with existing applications, backup platforms and workflows. Built-in security capabilities, including object lock, immutability and versioning, help organisations strengthen data protection and improve ransomware resilience.
