Winda Energy Oy, known as a responsible developer of renewable energy projects, announced expanding its operations with a new data center project in Rastikangas, Janakkala. The project is being developed in European collaboration with Gi21 Capital, an investment company specializing in the development, construction, and operation of data center infrastructure across Europe.

The planned capacity of the data center is approximately 100 MW, with an estimated investment exceeding half a billion euros.

The project is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the region. During construction, the data center will employ hundreds of people, while its ongoing operations will create approximately 30–40 positions for local experts. The municipality of Janakkala will also benefit from increased municipal, property, and corporate tax revenues, as well as proceeds from the sale of the property.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the project targeted for completion in 2028. A 22-hectare site has been reserved in the Rastikangas industrial zone.
