KPMG, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, announced a strategic alliance with OpenAI to help organizations reimagine how employees and customers, across the public and private sectors, interact with enterprise software in the AI era.
The alliance is an important milestone in KPMG’s effort to help clients move beyond application-centric experiences toward a new enterprise operating model where AI becomes the system of engagement, and enterprise applications continue to serve as the systems of record. Through the alliance, and as an OpenAI Elite Partner, KPMG and OpenAI will help organizations reimagine how work gets done by bringing AI directly into the flow of enterprise processes, enabling faster decisions, more intelligent automation and simpler user experiences.
KPMG is also partnering with OpenAI to design and deploy an AI-native Supply Chain & Fulfillment Orchestration platform for their own organization that unifies supply chain operations, fulfillment and finance through intelligent workflows and agents.
Reinventing Enterprise Software Through AI-First Experiences
KPMG is working within OpenAI’s own environment as a client-zero deployment to help design a new model for the AI-first enterprise. This demonstrates how organizations can move beyond traditional application-centric experiences toward a more intuitive and headless model of enterprise engagement, where AI becomes the system of engagement while enterprise applications continue to serve as the system of record. KPMG will accelerate delivery through a forward deployed engineer (FDE) model, embedding senior engineers directly alongside OpenAI teams to rapidly translate business needs into production-ready solutions. KPMG FDEs will go through OpenAI FDE certification to rapidly translate business needs into production-ready solutions.
KPMG’s approach represents a significant step toward a new generation of headless SaaS experiences that simplify how people access information, make decisions and complete work across enterprise systems.
Accelerating State and Local Government Modernization
The alliance will also advance KPMG’s work with state and local governments in the U.S. through the modernization of KRIS Connected, KPMG’s suite of SaaS solutions designed to support public-sector agencies. KPMG and OpenAI will help government agencies move from siloed legacy systems to connected case management, service delivery and decision support.
The next generation of KRIS Connected will help empower government agencies to elevate critical functions while improving experiences for citizens, caseworkers, and program administrators. These AI-powered solutions can help agencies modernize incrementally, reduce risk, and accelerate time to value.
Strengthening Cyber Defense Through Trusted AI
Building on KPMG’s participation in the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, the alliance also brings together OpenAI’s cyber capabilities and KPMG’s cyber and Trusted AI expertise to help organizations strengthen threat detection and security operations.
As a partner for the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, KPMG will help integrate OpenAI models and cyber capabilities into next-generation, AI-powered cybersecurity solutions. This will help accelerate the shift from traditional services to intelligent, scalable platforms and enhance KPMG’s ability to deliver faster, more automated and insight-driven security outcomes for clients, helping them strengthen resilience and respond to an increasingly complex threat landscape.

SaaS is evolving; it's becoming agentic. We’re designing AI-enabled systems that will act as the front door for customers and employees to engage. This approach requires collaboration across the technology ecosystem, and OpenAI is a critical partner to KPMG as we help clients move from software-led transformation to intelligent systems that work across the enterprise technology stack.
Colleen Kapase, Vice President of Strategic Global Partnerships and Ecosystems at OpenAI
